Early detection of autism is essential in gaining access to treatment at the earliest point possible. With the rise in the incidence of autism, more and more families are faced with the challenge of accessing intervention programs for their toddlers with autism. As soon as a diagnosis is made, families should be provided with accurate, up-to-date information about science-based intervention options.

Moving is stressful at any time, but for children and teens with a disability, a move can be especially difficult. We have compiled a guide that covers preparing for the move, visiting the neighborhood ahead of time, and establishing medical care ASAP. The article also details researching schools close by, adjusting your child to the area, and settling into your new home.
Autism spectrum disorder is a developmental disability. Approximately one in 68 children have received this medical diagnosis, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This statistic is derived from a study conducted in 2010 on 8-year-old children living in different communities in the United States. When parents have a child with this diagnosis, they usually need support and information to navigate the process of caring for the youngster.
Physical disabilities limit an individual’s mobility, stamina, and physical functioning overall. These disabilities make it difficult, or impossible, for patients to complete daily activities on their own. This includes getting dressed, eating, and even moving around. Many people with physical disabilities either have limited mobility or cannot walk at all. As a result, they may need a wheelchair, crutches, or additional assistance.
DDRS supports a wide variety of Hoosiers with disabilities to create a vision for their future that uses paid and natural supports to build on and enhance their personal strengths and assets.
